Sexist, sexual, moral and discriminatory violence in higher education
Sexist, sexual, moral, or discriminatory violence encompasses a wide range of acts and behaviors that can sometimes be difficult to identify. They constitute criminal offenses punishable by law and are subject to disciplinary procedures within the University. Such violence may be physical or psychological in nature and can have an impact on the health of those who experience it. These situations can develop in insidious ways, without victims fully realizing the seriousness of what they are going through or the danger they are facing.
The academic world is not immune to power dynamics, inequalities, discrimination, and sexist and sexual violence that affect all sectors of society. Lab’Urba has committed itself to combating and preventing such violence within its community through the creation of a working group on sexist, sexual, moral, and discriminatory violence (VSSMD Working Group).
